The General Board of Fairs is an institution belonging to the Secretariat of the General Peoples Committee of Economy, Commerce and Investment and oversees all of the Fairs in the Great Jamahiriya which are headed by the Tripoli International Fair.

Its objectives:

The organization of the international sessions of Tripoli International Fair and the specialized fairs.
To Promote the Great Jamahiriya and its acquisitions through the organization of fairs hosted by several friendly countries.
Participation of the Great Jamahiriya in foreign fairs through the General Board of Fairs to publicize our national products and introduce the products of the participating countries.
The active participation in promoting the national economy by creating links between producer and consumer.
Participation in the development of our national industry and its promotion as being introduced in foreign fairs on which the GBF participate and to open foreign markets in collaboration with the Center for Exports Promotion.
